Dr Kynan generally caters to patients who are interested in improving fine lines and wrinkles on the face. We believe the best cure is prevention.
When fine lines progress into wrinkles, they can be difficult to treat without using fillers. As such, using anti-wrinkle treatments such as neurotoxin prescription injections should be done early in life for best results — not waiting until wrinkles appear and become permanent.
Neurotoxin prescription injections are very safe medications which achieve desired results for around 3–5 months. We use a conservative approach to your first treatment, with a revisit generally needed for top-ups. Prevention First
The best outcomes come from treating early — before fine lines progress into permanent wrinkles.
Conservative Dosing
We start conservatively. A follow-up visit for top-ups is standard practice — not a sign of under-treatment.
Doctor-Led Care
All treatments are performed by a medical doctor. Prescription neurotoxins require medical oversight.
"We believe the best cure is prevention — beginning treatment before wrinkles become permanently etched is the most effective strategy available."
The Case for Early Treatment
Fine lines follow a predictable progression. The earlier treatment is initiated, the less correction is required — and the more natural the long-term result.
Fine Line
Visible only with expression. Ideal window — neurotoxins alone are highly effective.
Dynamic Wrinkle
Visible with movement, fading at rest. Regular treatment now essential.
Static Wrinkle
Etched in at rest. Neurotoxins alone may be insufficient — fillers often required.
After Care
While cosmetic injections are a relatively time-friendly and convenient treatment, it can take anywhere from 4–7 days for you to see a difference, with the full effect visible after two weeks. Something to remember when timing your treatment for a special event.
Depending on the sensitivity of your skin and any medications (like aspirin, ibuprofen, and other blood thinners) you may be taking, there is the chance of temporary, minor side effects including:
Mild swelling at or around the injection site
Mild tenderness or bruising at or around the injection site
Tiny red dots at the injection site
A mild headache, depending on the treatment area (most common with treatment of frown lines)
Do's and Don'ts
Remain upright for four hours following your treatment and avoid lying down while the protein settles into place.
Delay any facials or invasive dermal treatments like microdermabrasion, skin needling, or dermal rolling for two weeks.
Keep your face moving. Frown, laugh, smile as you would normally — this helps the protein be absorbed more quickly in the targeted muscle.
Avoid alcohol and painkillers before and after treatment as they tend to thin the blood and can make you prone to bruising.
Exercise less than 12 hours after your treatment. Avoid inverted poses (yoga, pilates, barre etc.) while the injection is settling.
Expose your skin to excessive heat or cold — saunas, spas, steam rooms, hot yoga, ice baths or skiing. Temperature changes risk dispersion into unwanted areas.
Massage or apply pressure to the face. When cleansing and applying skincare and makeup, use gentle strokes only.
